The Slate Phuket
Co-Owner & Managing Director
Prakaikaew Na-Ranong, otherwise known as Krystal
(a translation of her Thai given name) is The Slate’s Co-Owner and Managing Director where she has brought forward-thinking hospitality to the forefront with the resort. With a family history in hospitality, and personal experience within the sector, her expertise in ensuring exceptional presentation has made The Slate the island’s only Avant-Garde Expression of a Rich Phuket Heritage.
Prakaikaew studied hotel management at École hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and held positions at the InterContinental Paris and Four Seasons Bangkok.
Prakaikaew’s personal touches are obvious throughout the property. She spearheaded the soothing decor and treatments at the Coqoon Spa, and customized the body product line using locally sourced tropical flowers. She was also the driving force behind the new art quarter, Shades, which showcases paintings, sculptures and photography from artists across the globe.
Prakaikaew also oversees sourcing for the property’s on-site and online boutique, Stockroom and owns a jewelry range, INIS (Celtic for Island). Her effort and time spent in growing the grandeur of The Slate knows no bounds as it stuns guests worldwide who will enjoy an experience like no other.
“Design without history is missing something” Prakaikaew reflects, At The Slate, every corner is a conversation. You can feel the flavors of the past.”
