A successful hospitality leader with over 27 years of hospitality experience. After 14 years with IHG, in 2015, Simon took on the dynamic role of Vice President – Asset Management with Narai Hotel group, spanning a portfolio from Australia, South East Asia to Europe. In addition he is the COO for the Lubd Hostel Group, a part of the Narai Group.
Simon’s hotel industry experience spans 8 countries, from USA, Australia, South East Asia & Middle East, managing award winning Hostels, Hotels & Resorts. Since 2005 he has held several key executive positions including at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Korea, & the InterContinental Al Bustan Palace in Oman, and General Manager positions at the Holiday Inn Clark Philippines, the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Mai Khao Beach. and the Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa.
Since joining Narai Hotel Group, Simon has played a pivotal role in negotiating new management & brand agreements for the groups Paris Hotel asset, and is a Board of Director for this asset. Simon continues to offer knowledge and insight for other potential asset investments and owned hotel assets for Narai Group. As COO of Lub d, Simon is supporting the expansion of the group, as well as managing all aspects of the operation and corporate team. Lub d Hostel Group opened their 1st hostel in 2007 in Bangkok, 2nd Hostel in 2009 in Bangkok, and in 2016 opened their 3rd hostel in Phuket with 287 beds, the largest hostel in South East Asia. Lub d Phuket was also recently voted on the best new Hostel in the world, and is No.1 on Trip Advisor for Patong. In 2017, the Lubd Group will open a 222 bed hostel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, as well as a 230 bed hostel in Makati, Philippines. 2018 will see new assets added to the Lubd portfolio in South East Asia.
